There is no easy answer. Before you can create your budget, you need a solid script. The script will tell how many days of shooting is required. From there, you'll need to determine how much you can afford to pay crew and cast. But if you're creative, clever and careful, you get a lot further on very little. This is the type of information we discuss while determining your budget.
That's easy - start with a compelling, unique and well-crafted script. A good story well told can open doors, but a pig in lipstick is a waste of time and money.
The one you do best. Although horror is the easiest and cheapest genre to produce on a low budget. It also has a wide audience. Drama is equally low-budget friendly, but it requires greater writing skills. Action is not budget friendly. Faith-based drama is great as long as you have a script with real heart. Comedy is delightful and can be fairly low-budget, but it's harder to capture film festival attention and it doesn't cross cultural boundaries easily.
